Nagaland has exceeded its targets under the Udyam Registration and FSSAI Registration and Licensing interventions implemented under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme, recording 13,676 Udyam registrations against a target of 12,800 and 3,423 FSSAI registrations and licences against a target of 3,000.

The initiatives, implemented by the Department of Industries and Commerce in collaboration with the Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (NIDC), covered all 17 districts of the state.

Under the Udyam intervention, Nagaland achieved approximately 106.8% of its target, while the FSSAI intervention recorded around 114.1% achievement. The FSSAI registrations and licences comprised 3,321 basic registrations and 102 State licences.

In addition, ₹57 lakh was reimbursed to more than 3,051 eligible beneficiaries under the FSSAI intervention, helping reduce the financial burden associated with food business registration and licensing.

The interventions were implemented through District Industry Centres, with support from the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) and the Women Entrepreneurs Network of Nagaland (WENN). The coordinated efforts helped extend the initiatives to enterprises and Food Business Operators across the state.

Women accounted for 48% of the Udyam registrations and 73.07% of beneficiaries under the FSSAI intervention, reflecting their participation in enterprise formalisation and the food business sector in Nagaland.

The RAMP Scheme is a World Bank-supported Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of micro, small and medium enterprises through improved access to finance and markets, institutional strengthening and enterprise development support.

The Udyam and FSSAI interventions contribute to these objectives by encouraging enterprise formalisation and helping food businesses comply with applicable registration and licensing requirements.

The achievement highlights the state’s efforts to expand formalisation initiatives and facilitate regulatory compliance among MSMEs and Food Business Operators, with continued coordination among implementing departments and partner organisations expected to further improve access to government support across Nagaland.
