The Nagaland Senior Women’s Cricket Team will face Sikkim in the finals of the ongoing 1st NECDC Senior Women’s Interstate Tournament T20 which will take place on 5th October 2024 at the RBDCA Cricket Ground, Pahamsning Nongkhrah, Nongpoh, Meghalaya.
The team secured their spot in the finals after a thrilling bowl-out victory over host Meghalaya. The game, which was halted by rain, concluded with a 2-1 win in the bowl-out, sending Nagaland through to face Sikkim in tomorrow’s highly anticipated final.
The Nagaland Cricket Association stated that with the senior men’s team winning the 2nd NECDC Interstate Friendship Tournament recently, the senior women’s team is now poised to follow suit, taking Nagaland cricket to new heights. A potential victory in the NECDC final would solidify Nagaland’s growing reputation as a cricketing force in the Northeast and beyond, it added.
The NCA also said that winning the 1st NECDC Senior Women’s Interstate Tournament T20 would mark a monumental achievement for women’s cricket in Nagaland and further ignite the passion for the sport in the region.

Meanwhile, in PCA Ground B in Mullanpur, Punjab, the Nagaland U-19 team lost to Chandigarh by 9 wickets in the ongoing BCCI Vinoo Mankad Trophy (One-Day).
Elsewhere at the Chaudhry Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium, Haryana, the Women’s U-19 team lost to Saurashtra by 7 wickets in the Women’s Under 19 T20 Trophy.
