Nagaland University organises lecture on ‘Perception & Other Aspects of NIRF’

Lumami: Kumar outlines key focus areas and strategies that NU could adopt to enhance its standing

The Nagaland University organised an online lecture titled “Perception & Other Aspects of NIRF” on 30th September 2024. The session featured Rashmi Uday Kumar from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) as the resource person, a press release informed.

She provided a comprehensive overview of the various parameters of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), with a particular emphasis on perception. Drawing on insights from IIT Madras, which has consistently ranked at the top in both the Engineering and overall categories, Kumar outlined key focus areas and strategies that Nagaland University could adopt to enhance its standing. She emphasized the crucial role that both academic departments and the administration can play in improving the ranking of Nagaland University.

The lecture was followed by an engaging Q&A session, attended by statutory officers, deans, heads of departments, and other university officials. Additionally, Prof. J.K. Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of Nagaland University, also delivered a speech to kick off the program. The session was chaired by Peter Ki, PRO of Nagaland University.
