The Department of Information Technology, Nagaland University, organised an informative “Talk on Entrepreneurship” on August 25. The session was delivered by Er Dhiraj Kalita, representing DK Tech Pvt. Ltd., Guwahati, who shared valuable insights and practical perspectives on entrepreneurship, financial planning, and career development.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof Sujata Dash, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University, in the presence of faculty members of the Department of Information Technology. In her inaugural address, Prof Dash encouraged the students to make the best use of such interactive sessions and develop the knowledge and skills required to succeed in a rapidly changing professional environment.

During the session, Er Dhiraj Kalita discussed several important topics, including financial literacy, the importance of value addition in developing one’s professional profile, various sources of income and investment opportunities, and effective financial planning.

He also highlighted the various government schemes and subsidies available to aspiring entrepreneurs, explaining how students and young professionals can take advantage of such opportunities to establish their own start-ups and companies.

The resource person encouraged the students to prepare themselves for the emerging marketplace by continuously upgrading their knowledge, skills, and professional capabilities. He emphasised the importance of becoming employable and adaptable to the changing demands of industry. In particular, he inspired the students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and strive to become job givers rather than merely job seekers.

The interaction was highly engaging and meaningful, providing students with practical knowledge and motivation to explore entrepreneurship and innovation as potential career pathways. The participants actively interacted with the resource person and gained valuable insights into financial management, investments, start-up opportunities, and career preparedness.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Er Shanchamo Yanthan, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, Nagaland University, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, the Dean, faculty members, and all the participants for their contribution to the successful conduct of the programme.
