17130 candidates of the 24361 candidates have qualified in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination 2023 conducted by Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), taking the pass percentage to 70.32 percent.
Christy Paul Matthew from Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur has topped the HSLC exam 2023 scoring an aggregate of 99 percent. Matthew will be conferred with the NBSE Award and also the Governor’s Award.
However, 7231 candidates could not clear the HSLC exam 2023.

In the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations, Moanola Longchar (97.20 percent) of Town Hr. Sec. School, Mokokchung topped the Arts Stream, Zahid Ahmed Laskar (99.20 percent) in the Commerce Stream while in the Science Stream, Awang P Yimpushü (97 Percent) of St. John Hr. Sec. Residential School, Dimapur came on top.
The overall pass percentage in HSSLC Arts Stream is 82.62 percent, 85.83 percent in Commerce Stream and 86.79 percent in Science Stream.
