Akehda Amulung, Kiphire held a coordination meeting with the Village Council and elders of Shishimi Village on September 19 to discuss preparations for the inaugural programme of a beekeeping training programme aimed at promoting sustainable livelihoods.

Funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC) and implemented by Akehda Amulung, the training programme is tentatively scheduled to be inaugurated on September 26 at Shishimi Village.

During the meeting, the Council Chairman and Head Gaon Bura of Shishimi expressed gratitude for the initiative, stating that the programme would benefit the village. They also expressed hope for a successful partnership between the implementing organisation and the village community.

Longtili C Sangtam, Founder of Akehda Amulung, said the programme was designed to create additional income opportunities for the people of Shishimi.

He said beekeeping had the potential to provide a sustainable source of income while strengthening local livelihoods and creating opportunities for economic self-reliance.

Sangtam further stated that the project would be monitored by Akehda Amulung CEO, Irothe T Sangtam, who would oversee its implementation and progress.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment from Akehda Amulung, the Village Council and village elders to work together for the successful implementation of the programme and to promote sustainable livelihood opportunities for the people of Shishimi.
