Has work been stressful lately? Are upcoming exams and preparations making you feel all sorts of tension? Or has life been giving you the sourest lemons and you need an escape from reality? Or, do you simply need to go somewhere and have fun?
You deserve a break and we have got you covered. Here in this article, you are going to find, in detail, how to plan the perfect getaway. So, shall we take a trip to Kapamodzü?
Under Phek district in Zhavame village lies the beautiful Kapamodzü peak which is the highest table top and the fourth highest peak in Nagaland. The view from the top is epic as you get to see the entire Saramati Range, Japfü Peak and several villages of Nagaland and Manipur, the beautiful landscapes and floral creations. Sunrise and sunsets from Kapamodzü are one of the most surreal beauty one can witness and on a clear night, one can see the Milky Way.

Kapamodzü can be visited any time of the year as its beauty remains even when it adjusts to the seasons. Several activities like hiking, camping and/or bonfire are possible. One can take one’s own camping tents and sleeping bags or it is also available up there for minimal charges.
The entry fee to Kapamodzü is Rs 30 per head and Rs 50 per vehicle.
There is a glass house cafe and a beautiful modern bathroom on the literal top to undertake this expedition. You can take your own personal car which gives you the space to have fun to the maximum as you can stop anywhere you want. To take a break, check out the view or explore the villages that falls on the way to Kapamodzü.
You can also hire a taxi or sumo or even take an NST (Nagaland State Transport) till Pfutsero from where you can hire a car till Zhavame village. The next best option is to rent a vehicle from the nearest car rental outlet which will also serve the same purpose as that of taking your own personal vehicle. The main down point for this option is to continuously make sure that the vehicle is properly taken care of and to make sure that it is well suited for the challenging road conditions.
There are two alternate roadways which you can take to reach the destination, via, the Chakabama route which starts at Billy Graham Road, DBS Kohima or the National Highway 29 crossing certain villages like Kigwema, Jakhama, which can take up to 2-3 hours. The Chakabama route which is still in process of development can take up more hours.
The road conditions can be hectic and challenging especially from Pfutsero to Zhavame village and up Kapamodzü peak. It will not be a surprise for the adventurous individuals and groups to see some bumps, cracks and potholes on the journey.
