Neiphiu Rio visits Indian Navy platforms in Visakhapatnam, reviews maritime capabilities

Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio visited frontline platforms of the Indian Navy at the Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam on April 27, gaining firsthand insight into the operational capabilities of the country’s maritime forces.

According to an official release, the Chief Minister toured both a naval ship and a submarine and was received by senior officers of the Eastern Naval Command. He was briefed on the roles, missions, and operational strengths of surface and sub-surface platforms, followed by guided walkthroughs onboard.

During the interaction, Rio appreciated the professionalism, dedication, and commitment of naval personnel in safeguarding India’s maritime interests. He commended the Navy’s high standards of operational readiness and its critical role in ensuring maritime security.
