The Students Council for Social Change (SCSC), Northeast Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) organized the 10th Fresher’s Day 2024 to welcome new students of BSW and MSW course to the NEISSR family.
Jenpu Rongmei, Founder and Chief functionary of CAN Youth, Dimapur delivered an inspirational message, highlighting the importance of ‘Never Giving Up’ when confronted with challenges and difficulties in life. He motivated the old and new students alike to be focused in their pursuance of dreams. He concluded by saying that student should not forget three important aspects – Prayer, Communication, and not to compromise in their journey of accomplishing their purpose in life.
The event also marked the selection of NEISSR’s Mr. and Miss Fresher, 2024. Khumti T Sangtam and Lilo P Chishi both from MSW 1st semester won the titles respectively.

Joyba C Sangtam, President, SCSC, expressed his gratitude to all the participants, organizers, and attendees for making the event a success. The event concluded with the NEISSR anthem, fostering a sense of unity and pride among the students. The formal program was followed by refreshments and an informal session, allowing students to socialize and celebrate.
Setting the stage, the comperes of the event Angumshi Jamir and Yangtsumong J Yimchunger warmly welcomed the participants. The formal session began with an invocation by Longtin Phom of MSW 3rd semester. Dr. Fr. C. P Anto, the principal of NEISSR delivered a welcome address, expressing gratitude to Jenpu Rongmei, the special guest, Ilokali D. Zhimo and Mughapu G. Aye, the Judges, Dr. Fr. Matthew Thuniampral, the representative of NEISSR governing board and all attendees. He extended his warm welcome to the batch of 2024 BSW and MSW students and shared about the vision & mission of NEISSR.
Adahrii, MSW 3rd Semester, shared his experiences, encouraging fresher’s to make judicious use of their time in NEISSR. The BSW 3rd Semester presented a special number titled “Let us Exalt His Name”. Alongba Sangtam, MSW 1st Sem and Kihito P Swu, BSW 1st Sem shared their initial impressions and hopes for their journeys at NEISSR. Pito Aye and Hau Monlal, MSW 3rd Sem, presented a musical piece adding a melodic touch to the proceedings, informed a press release by the Institute.
