The Nagaland Football Coaches Association (NFCA) has urged the Police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident of 25th March 2025 at 5th Mile, Chümoukedima that led to the death of football coach William Koso. In a representation to the Director General of Police, Nagaland, the NFCA also appealed for timely update from the authorities on the incident.
NFCA President Roko Angami and General Secretary Ayeto Sumi stated reports of the accused being under the custody of the police and appreciated the prompt action. “We also anticipate a judicious and prompt inquiry and investigation into this matter and bring out the entire result to the public domain for the masses to know and quell the curious distraught of the general public and the sporting fraternity,” they stated.
The Association mentioned that sporting fraternity “has been left stunned and with regret” by the tragic incident that occurred in the early hours of 25th March 2025 that cost the life of William Koso, who was a renowned coach and instructor who had immensely contributed to the sports fraternity of Nagaland in uplifting grassroots coaching standards and imparting professionalism in sports with due emphasis to football. “He was currently serving as the Technical Convenor of the ongoing premier Nagaland Super League (NSL) which is still underway,” NFCA added.
