In view of the extensive damage caused to National Highway-02 between Chuchuyimlang and Unger villages, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Mokokchung, has imposed traffic diversions until further orders to ensure the safe and uninterrupted movement of vehicles.
According to an advisory issued by Deputy Commissioner and DDMA Chairman Ajit Kumar Verma, all commuters must use the following alternative routes:
- Vehicles travelling between Mokokchung town and Tuli should take the route: Mokokchung – Demur Junction – Longjang – Kelingmen – Tuli.
- Vehicles travelling between Mokokchung town and Chuchuyimlang village should use the route: Mokokchung – Imlong Junction – Visemyong – Mongsenyimti – Chuchuyimlang.
- Vehicles travelling from Mokokchung town to Changtongya should ply via Mokokchung – Impur Junction – Longjang – Kelingmen – Unger – Akhoya – Changtongya.
- Vehicles travelling from Changtongya to Mokokchung should take the route: Changtongya – Unger – Unger Local Ground – Chuchuyimlang/Kelingmen Junction – Mokokchung.

The DDMA has appealed to all commuters to strictly follow the notified diversion routes, exercise caution while travelling, and comply with all instructions issued by the authorities.
The traffic regulations will remain in force until further orders as restoration work on the damaged stretch of NH-02 continues.
