NOA pays tribute to former colleague lt Nolvi Sophie

Kohima: NOA states sports fraternity, especially the athletics family has deepest appreciation for his sacrifices and contributions

Nagaland Olympic Association has expressed its pain over the demise of its member late Nolvi Sophie on 29 May 2023. lt Sophie retired from the Department of Youth Resources and Sports as an Athletics Coach and was also member of the Nagaland Athletic Association.

Paying tribute to its former member, NOA stated that lt Sophie gave the best years of his life towards the cause of promoting sports, grooming young talents, and strengthening of Nagaland’s sports fraternity. A dedicated and disciplined person, he always carried out his given responsibilities with commitment and sincerity, NOA said. Lt Sophie made positive contributions in both the department and the association ever since he entered the sports arena.

NOA stated that the sports fraternity, especially the athletics family has deepest appreciation for his sacrifices and contributions.

‘We will miss his presence and guidance and his demise is a big loss to all of us, as he still had so much more to contribute with the vast experience he had gained in the past decades of his service,’ NOA expressed.

The Olympic fraternity led by the President and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and all members of the Nagaland Athletics Association conveyed their deepest condolences to the family of the departed.
