‘Not Just Another Bureaucrat – Temjen Toy as I Knew Him’ by Limawati Longchar released

Kohima: Personal memoir accounts association of author with late Toy, highlights little known but very interesting aspects of Toy’s persona

Nagaland Chief Secretary J Alam on Friday launched the memoir of late Temjen Toy, “Not Just Another Bureaucrat – Temjen Toy as I Knew Him”, written by Limawati Longchar here at Japfü Hotel, Kohima.

Temjen Toy was serving as the Chief Secretary of Nagaland when he passed away on 28 January 2021 after a brief illness. He was a 1989-batch IAS officer and had taken charge as the chief secretary of Nagaland in March 2018.

Speaking at the launching, Nagaland Chief Secretary J Alam described Late Temjen Toy as not an ordinary bureaucrat and lauded the author for the aptly title of the book.

He said, the attendance of family, friends and well wishers on the launch itself is a testimony to the enduring legacy of Toy.

Author Limawati Longchar, former director of Department of Information and Public Relations, who was a close associate of Late Toy said the book is a tribute to Toy, and the book should be a celebration of life remembering him as somebody who gave his all for the Nagas.

The personal memoir accounts the personal association of the author with Temjen Toy and highlights the little known but very interesting aspects of Toy’s persona.

The memoir has also carefully selected photographs, a reminiscent of occasions which many would not have been privy to.

Toy, till today is firmly remembered by the people of Nagaland as a able administrator and one of the finest human beings. His demise was a huge loss for the government of Nagaland and for the Nagas as a whole.
