The event featured musical performances by students and faculty, showcasing talents in vocal music as well as instruments like guitar, violin, piano, and drums. Messages on behalf of the parents and teachers were delivered, emphasizing their pride in the students’ accomplishments and their commitment to supporting the growth of the music school.

A prayer service added a spirit of gratitude and togetherness to the event, while the felicitation ceremony recognized 24 outstanding students for their achievements in music. Wabang Kichu, Councillor of Lijaba Ward under Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) who holds the portfolio of Promotion of Culture and aesthetic aspects in Music and Arts presented the awards to the students.

The Councillor of the Mokokchung Municipal Council, who also serves as the Convenor for the Promotion of Culture and Aesthetic Aspects, Music & Arts, encouraged students by reminding them, “Not everyone can emerge as a winner, but everyone must give their best effort. Music is a gift, an innate talent.” He highlighted the uniqueness of musical ability, emphasizing that it cannot be imitated, and urged the students to persevere, work hard, and stay connected to their faith.

Adding a teacher’s perspective, Jopongtoshi, a violin instructor, emphasized three key aspects: talent, skills, and professionalism. While talent is an innate gift, he explained that it must be nurtured through practice to develop skills. Professionalism, he stressed, comes from understanding and applying one’s craft beyond technicalities, ensuring a well-rounded approach to music. He also elaborated on the interplay between talent and skill development. “Talent is a natural gift from God,” he said, “but it does not function on its own. It requires deliberate effort to be nurtured and utilized effectively. Skill, on the other hand, is cultivated through consistent practice.” He emphasized the need for students to go beyond mere technical proficiency, certificates, and music notes to truly understand and connect with their craft.

During the ceremony, the school also honored individuals whose contributions have significantly supported the institution’s growth and success. Organizers extended their gratitude to attendees, whose presence and prayers enriched the occasion.

Longden Longkumer, Proprietor of Note Grid School of Music, shared a special message for the community, where he expressed heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made Note Grid School of Music a vibrant and thriving community—the teachers, dedicated parents, students, hardworking administrator and staff, and coordinator.
