Kohima: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has extended solidarity and support to the 5th August, 2022, public rally organised by Nagaland Peoples Action committee (NPAC) in demand for an early settlement to Naga political issue. People have defied money and power.

In a press release, NPCC President K.Therie, assured all efforts made to express solidarity to the demand for settlement to the Agreements, will not be buried alive.

Therie alleged that the state govt and its allied forces have done all they could do to dislodge the Public Rally as usual. Accusing the UDA Govt for abandoning the Parliamentary Committee resolution of 16th July 2022 endorsing the Agreements and the 31st Oct 2019 conclusion of talks, he said, “they announced the treacherous seat-sharing deal”.

He said, the UDA govt. have failed on all fronts particularly in enforcing the law of the land.

“Nagaland people deserve peace, One Govt and One Tax. People deserve justice and equality. People deserve a true welfare govt. People deserve opportunities and employment. They have failed on all fronts particularly in enforcing the law of the land”

Therie further alleged that 25 years of negotiation and 20 years of facilitation and support without settlement is a deliberate plan adding that, It was not that they lack wisdom or have no option but their main intentions are to rob the state exchequer and extort from the public.

He pointed out that, for GOI, ceasefire is solution. They do not need any settlement and if  the negotiating party do not want to accept the conditions of GOI and are determined to fight for flag and constitution, he said, the negotiator should abrogate the ceasefire and “settle the score in a friendly match”.
