The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has slammed MLA and Advisor for Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water, Imkong L Imchen, for his allegations that the Congress Party did not condemn the “Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra” rally which was proposed to be held on 28th September 2024.
The NPCC clarified that it had “strongly and unequivocally denounced” the programme on 10th September 2024 and reiterated that the yatra is “an assault on the diverse and secular spirit enshrined in our Constitution and reassert our commitment to continue the fight against such divisive agendas.”
In an interview to Nagaland News Network, Advisor Imchen had claimed that Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand was a Congress supporter and that the Party led by Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren Jamir had not uttered a word against the yatra that seeks ban on cow slaughter.
Criticizing Imchen for choosing fantasy over facts, the NPCC stated that it is “ever ready to engage in any discourse in the interest of the great people of this nation, provided it comes from a place of evidence and facts, not some baseless dungeons and dragons fairy tale story conjured out of thin air and being masqueraded as legitimate points of discussion.”
