The Naga Scholars’ Association (Kohima Unit) in association with the Department of History and Political Science, Don Bosco College, jointly hosted Lecture Series – 3 on August 11. The event focused on the compelling topic, “Naga Indigenous Knowledge in the Context of NEP – 2020”.

The formal programme commenced under the moderation of Imtiwapang T Longkumer, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Don Bosco College. The session began with an invocation by Fr Dr Xavier Mattam, Rector of Don Bosco College, Kohima, followed by a welcome address from Dr Videkhono Yhokha, Vice President of the Naga Scholars’ Association and Assistant Professor, Baptist College, Kohima.

Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Hon’ble Advisor for School Education, Government of Nagaland, graced the event as the resource person. Delivering his lecture, Dr Yhome emphasized that NEP has evolved significantly toward multi and interdisciplinary studies, and stressed the need to reinvent indigenous knowledge into everyday life.

He noted that true educational progress honors our roots while preparing our youth for a globalized world, ultimately nurturing a culturally grounded, future-ready generation in Nagaland. The lecture was followed by an engaging Q&A session where participants interacted actively with the resource person.

The academic event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr Lanukumla Ao, General Secretary of the Naga Scholars’ Association and Assistant Professor at Don Bosco College, Kohima.
