The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Home Department, has issued a weather advisory warning that unsettled weather conditions are expected to prevail across the state from July 1 to 4, with localized thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rainfall likely over several districts.
In a statement, the NSDMA advised citizens to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during periods of adverse weather.
On July 1, localized thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall are expected over Chümoukedima, Kohima, Longleng, Meluri, Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, Tseminyu, Tuensang, and Zunheboto districts. Dimapur, Noklak, and Wokha are also likely to receive light to moderate rainfall. Residents have been urged to exercise caution, particularly during thunderstorms and lightning activity.
On July 2, thunderstorms with light to moderate rainfall are likely to continue over Longleng, Mokokchung, Mon, Peren, Tseminyu, Tuensang, and Zunheboto districts. Scattered light to moderate rainfall is also expected in Dimapur, Niuland, and Wokha, while isolated light rainfall may occur in other districts.

On July 3, localized thunderstorms and lightning are forecast over Kiphire, Longleng, Meluri, Mon, Noklak, Tseminyu, Wokha, and Zunheboto districts. Light rainfall is also likely across several other districts, including Kohima, Mokokchung, Peren, Phek, Shamator, and Tuensang.
On July 4, thunderstorms and lightning are expected to persist over Kohima, Meluri, Mokokchung, Mon, Niuland, Noklak, Peren, Phek, Tseminyu, Tuensang, and Zunheboto districts. Chümoukedima, Kiphire, and Longleng are also likely to experience scattered light to moderate rainfall.
The NSDMA has urged the public to stay updated with official weather forecasts and advisories and to take all necessary safety measures during the period of inclement weather. Citizens have also been advised to follow updates through the NSDMA Weather website and the SAFER Nagaland mobile application for real-time weather information.
