The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) has issued a directive to all its federating units and subordinate bodies to refrain from participating or endorsing any such demonstration that seeks to justify or normalize unjust regularization process.

The directive comes following the recent circular calling upon teachers and students of government colleges across the state to participate in a demonstration on April 21 (Monday) in support of the arbitrary regularization of 147 Assistant Professors under the Department of Higher Education.

The Federation reiterated its strong opposition to the absorption of Assistant Professors through a one-time dispensation, bypassing due process and open recruitment. “This move, executed in blatant disregard of the Federation’s appeals and representations, reflects a gross miscarriage of justice and undermines the future of thousands of deserving and qualified aspirants across the state. Therefore, all the federating units and subordinate bodies of NSF are called upon to direct their members to refrain from participating or endorsing any such demonstration that seeks to justify or normalize this unjust regularization process,” directed the NSF.

It also reminded that participation in the demonstration would constitute a clear violation of the stand and principles of the Naga Students’ Federation.

“The Federation continues to demand the immediate revocation of the said Cabinet decision and for all sanctioned posts to be requisitioned to the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC), thereby restoring confidence in the system and upholding the aspirations of the youth. All federating units and subordinate bodies are hereby instructed to remain vigilant and uphold the collective interest of the student community,” stated the Federation.
