Joining the rest of the Country, the 4th Quarterly National Lok Adalat under the aegis of the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) was held across the districts today with 11 benches. A total of 456 cases were taken up during the proceedings, out of which 354 cases were amicably resolved. The cumulative settlement amount stood at Rs. 5,46,87,912 ensuring timely relief and justice for the litigants involved. These cases encompassed a wide range of disputes, including Bank recovery cases, motor accident claims, and other matters, highlighting the effectiveness of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in reducing the burden on the judiciary.
The Lok Adalat was held under the guidance of Executive Chairman, Nagaland State Legal Services Authority and Judge, Gauhati High Court, Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak, Member Secretary, NSLSA Neiko Akami, NJS and the District & Sessions Judges, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Judicial Magistrate (First Class) as the Presiding Officers.
Mokokchung DLSA conducted 4th Quarterly National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex. The National Lok Adalat was presided by Principal District & Sessions Judge cum Chairperson, Mokokchung DLSA Victo Sema and Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary Mokokchung DLSA Julian Sitlhou and Retainer Lawyer Watitemjen and Panel Lawyer Mokokchung DLSA as the conciliators. All together 18 bank recovery cases were taken up and 1 criminal Compoundable offence case. All together 19 bank cases were disposed of with a settlement amount of Rs.37,79,725.04/-(Thirty seven lakhs seventy nine thousand seven hundred twenty five four paisa) only.
Dimapur DLSA conducted 4th National Lok Adalat with Principal District & Sessions Judge cum Chairman Dimapur DLSA N Longshithung Ezung as presiding officer. 120 pre litigation cases and 7 pending trial cases were taken up and 85 cases were disposed off. Total settlement amount was Rs. 1,80,12,570/- ( One crore eighty lakh twelve lakh five hundred seventy only).
Wokha DLSA conducted 4th quarterly National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Wokha. Judicial Magistrate (First Class) cum Secretary, Wokha DLSA Cheliam Khiamniungan was the presiding officer. Panel Lawyers Jacob kikon, Shanchobeni P Lotha and Deputy Legal Aid Defense Counsel Renbonthung Tsanglao were conciliators. 13 cases were taken up, 10 Pre-Litigation Bank recovery cases and 3(three) pending Trial bank recovery were taken up and disposed off. The Total settlement amount is Rs.10,68467.
Tuensang DLSA conducted 4th Quarterly National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex. The National Lok Adalat was presided by PD&SJ cum Chairperson Tuensang DLSA Somet Chumden Chang, NJS Antimangyang Chang, Retainer Lawyer and Herola, Panel Lawyer Tuensang DLSA as the conciliators. All together 26 bank recovery cases were taken up and 12 bank cases were disposed of with a settlement amount of Rs.29,10,400/-( Twenty Nine Lakh Ten Thousand Four Hundred) only.
Zunheboto DLSA conducted 4th Quarterly National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex Zunheboto. District & Sessions Judge cum Chairman ZDLSA Phuleto Yeptho, NJS was the presiding officer. Retainer and Panel Lawyer Easter H Yepthomi and Inolito K Sumi were the conciliators. All together 07 pre litigation bank recovery cases were taken up and 06 were disposed of with the total settlement amount of Rs. 15,35,797/-.
Kohima DLSA conducted National Lok Adalat at District Court Kohima. Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary Kohima DLSA, Wokono Yhoshü, NJS was the Presiding Officer assisted by 8 Panel Lawyers and 4 PLVs. A total of 26 cases were taken up and disposed 23 cases with settlement amount of Rs. 2,886,010/-
Phek DLSA conducted 4th Quarterly National Lok Adalat on 14/12/24 at District Court complex Phek. The National Lok Adalat was presided by District and Sessions Judge cum Chairperson Phek DLSA Tucuno Vamuzo, NJS, with Vethothi Vero, Retainer Lawyer and Sekhotso Rokha, Panel Lawyer, Phek DLSA as conciliators. 20 matters of Pre-Letigation bank recovery cases of SBI Phek and NStCB (Phek, Pfutsero and Chozuba) were taken up and disposed off with a settlement amount of Rs. 20,57,113.

Mon DLSA organised National Lok Adalat at District Court Mon. The proceeding was presided by Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, B. Peter Resu Secretary Mon DLSA and Panel Lawyers Angun Konyak, N Mannon, K Topha and M Moba were the conciliators. A total of 5 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were taken up and 4 pre-litigation bank recovery cases were settled with the settlement amount of Rs 11,07293/-(Rupees Eleven lakhs seven thousand two hundred ninety three) only.
Peren DLSA conducted 4th National Lok Adalat at ADC Conference Hall, Peren Town with Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary WV Patton along with Retainer and Asungbe, Inchang, Italang and Kidungyi as members wherein 7 pre litigation cases were taken up and disposed off with settlement amount at Rs. 8,81,500/-
Longleng DLSA conducted National Lok Adalat at District Court Complex with Longleng Branch and Tamlu Branch of State Bank of India. Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, Kumdilong Kessen, NJS presided the NLA. PL P Monyei Phom as conciliator participated. Taken up 09 and disposed off 09 Bank recovery case with the settlement amount of Rs. 13,88,824.
Kiphire DLSA conducted mobile Lok Adalat at Pungro Town. CJM cum Secretary Kiphire DLSA Holika Sukhalu, NJS was the Presiding Officer. Panel lawyer Lizi Sangtam and PLV was also present. Total cases of 58 Bank Loan Recovery cases and 41 cases were disposed off. The Settlement amount was Rs. 53,88,037.
