Amid the allegations that the question paper for the National Entrance and Eligibility Test – Under Graduate (NEET UG) 2024 was leaked, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has refuted the claims and issued a clarification on Sunday evening.

NEET (UG) was conducted earlier today at 4750 examination centres spread across 571 cities in India and abroad. Soon after the test ended, several people alleged on social media that the question paper had leaked.

In a public notice, NTA has stated that Hindi medium candidates at the Girls Higher Secondary Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Mantown, Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan were incorrectly given the English question paper during the NEET (UG) 2024 examination due to which some candidates, despite being stopped by the invigilators, forcibly came out of the examination centre with the question papers.

The agency also maintained the photos on social media had appeared after the examination had already commenced and therefore, they have not affected the integrity of the examination being conducted at other examination centres.

Except for this examination centre in Rajasthan, the test was conducted smoothly and peacefully in all other centres, it added.

NTA further said that in order to provide equal opportunity to all the candidates, the examination of about 120 affected candidates was being conducted on Sunday itself in the said examination centre.

24 lakh candidates had registered for NEET (UG) 2024.
