Prof Joginder Singh Panwar from the Department of Botany, Nagaland University was recently conferred the prestigious Prof PC Trivedi Medal for Editorial Excellence 2025 by the Indian Botanical Society (IBS). The award was given at the 48th All India Botanical Conference held at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong held during October 29-31. The citation noted his contributions as an author, editor, and researcher in the field of Plant-Microbe Interactions.
He has been credited with 31 edited books published by major international academic publishers such as Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis Group, John Wiley & Sons with a focus on the practical applications and technological developments to translate microbial science into real-world environmental and agricultural solutions. He is also an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Environmental Science (Toxicology, Pollution and the Environment) a role that he has been serving since 2020.

Prof Panwar’s substantial contributions in the area of Plant-Microbe Interactions include publication of 266 research and review articles in peer-reviewed journals and 125 authored/co-authored book chapters. He has secured eight published and four granted patents while also having mentored fifteen PhD scholars.
International recognition for Prof Panwar, among others, include being listed in the “World Ranking of Top 2% Scientists” database released by Stanford University, USA, and Elsevier for three consecutive years starting from 2023 through 2025.
