Odd-Even scheme for commercial vehicles in Kohima town on 4 and 5 April

Kohima: This directive is in preparation for the upcoming G20 Summit and in the interest of public convenience

The odd-even scheme will be enforced for all commercial vehicles including two & four-wheeler taxis, pick-ups/Tata Mobile and buses in Kohima town on 4 and 5 April 2023 from 6:00 am till 9:00 pm.

The Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Shanavas, IAS in a notification stated that this directive is in preparation for the upcoming G20 Summit and in the interest of public convenience and as per the decision taken during the Regional Transport Authority meeting dated 31 March 2023.

As per the order, vehicles with registration numbers ending with an odd digit (1,3,5,7,9) can ply the roads on 4 April 2023, while vehicles with registration numbers ending with an even digit cannot ply on 4 April 2023. Vehicles with registration numbers ending with an even digit (2,4,6,8,0) can be on the roads on 5 April 2023.

Further, it is to be noted that violators if any shall be penalized under section 179 of the Motor Vehicle Amendment Act 2019, the notification added.
