The women’s team of the famed Orca basketball team in Nagaland took the trophy during the 5th edition of Women Basketball Tournament held in Loyola Higher Secondary School, Jakhama.
Themed, ‘Start Unknown,Finish unforgettable’, the women’s basketball tournament which concluded on October 22 was organised by Vision Trinity.
Orca team walked away with a cash prize of Rs.30,000 defeating the Touchline basketball Academy Shillong with a score of 46-35 points.
Special Guest Ketobu Vitsu, Vice President Southern Angami Sports Association(SASA) graced the finale and distributed the prizes.
The best discipline team was awarded to the Touchline Basketball Academy. Shimti Mawl from Touchline Basketball Academy won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and while the highest scorer went to Sangjem Jamir from Team Orca.

Viketule Thami Loyola won the most promising player and the award for the Best jersey was given to Team TMB.The three day tournament was held at Loyola Higher Secondary school, Jakham with seven teams in total participated from Kohima, Zubza and Shillong participating in the tournament.
An exhibition match was played between the Kohima District Basketball Association (KDBA) and Vision Trinity (VT)team where KDBA won with 16 point and VT 15 points .
