Orientation programme under ULLAS held at Tseminyu

One day orientation and mobilization program for community leaders under Understanding Lifelong Learning for all in Society (ULLAS) was held at EBRC Training Hall, Tseminyu on June 11.

DC Tseminyu Japheth Woch, (NCS) in his keynote address, highlighted that ULLAS is a centrally sponsored scheme to empower adults aged 15 and above who missed out on formal schooling. The main that target was for non-literate citizens above 15 years, with foundational literacy and critical life skills and to transform fully educated and self-reliant society. He also sought active participation and cooperation of the communities for successful implementation of the program.

Supervisor Adult Education (AE) Kohima, Alesh Thong spoke on the role of community in implementation of the program, he said that every community leader must come forward to render their services with the spirit of voluntarism to eradicate illiteracy in the society.

The program was chaired by Rushulo Khing (EBRC) Coordinator Tseminyu while vote of thanks was pronounced by Francis Magh ToT, (EBRC) Tseminyu.
