India’s para-athletes have secured four medals at the ongoing Paris Paralympic Games 2024. These medals include one gold, one silver and two bronze.
On Friday, Avani Lekhara clinched gold with a Paralympic Record in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1. Lekhara also became the Indian woman athlete to win three Paralympic medals. This is also her second gold in successive Paralympic Games.
In the same event, Mona Agarwal secured the bronze.
In the P1 Men’s 10m Air Pistol SH1, Indian shooter Manish Narwal secured the silver, his second medal at successive Paralympics.
Meanwhile, Preeti Pal achieved a personal best and won bronze in the Women’s 100m T35, the first-ever medal for India in a track event at the Para Games.
The President, Prime Minister and Union Sports Minister have all congratulated the para-athletes on their achievements.
