A heartfelt tribute to Tuisem A Shishak Annual Lecture organised by Patkai Christian college Autonomous and the Alumni Association Patkai Christian college (AAPCC)was held on Saturday at Bundrock Auditorium under the theme “Dare to Dream Patkai Christian college and the future”.

Tuisem A Shishak Annual lecture was instituted in recognition of its founder Principal’s contributions made in the field of education. Shishak is an educationist scholar extraordinaire and academic activist whose vision and commitment also gave the society lasting institution and ideas that have inspired generation of students and academicians continue. His vision was to provide quality education for the highlanders and Northeast India as manifested in the vision of the college, as a Christian liberal arts institution. This model offers a holistic approach and integrates the Christian worldview to pursue the knowledge and value.

The event speaker was Visakhonu Hibo, Principal Japfü Christian College Kohima, who reflected on the College’s past with its struggle and accomplishments

According to Hibo, the topic “Dare to dream Patkai Christian College and the future” is meant to stimulate thought and discussion about the status of Patkai as one of the leading colleges in the region and its vision for the future.

She mentioned the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, envisioning a massive transformation in the education system rooted in Indian ethos that contributes directly to transforming sustainably into an equitable and vibrant knowledge by providing education helpful for students.

Hibo highlighted some keypoints such as teaching, research, critical thinking and flexibility with holistic education, adding that Patkai is moving on with tremendous aims to achieve in all round development.
