People’s Plan Campaign on preparation of GPDP held at Wokha

The State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) organized a one training program on the People’s Plan campaign for preparation of Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDP). The training for the fiscal year 2024-25 was held at VDB Hall in Wokha on January 27.

Seven RD Blocks from Wokha, Wuzhuro, Bhandari, Changpang, Sanis, Chukitong, and Ralan actively participated in the programme.

The aim of the program was to enhance the effectiveness of GPDP implementation and facilitate discussions on development plans for villages and blocks.

Conducting a session on the introduction of the training, the People’s Plan campaign, and thematic GPDP, Nodal officer for RGSA at SIRD, Dr. Juthusuthio Phoji mentioned that the GPDP was initially introduced in 2018, later revamping in 2023 and is now set to culminate in 2026.

Meanwhile, Dr. Rokosuno Kintso, Senior Lecturer at SIRD, highlighted a session on Thematic GPDP, the roles of facilitators and line departments in its implementation.

The program also featured activities like data porting into GPDP and eGramSwaraj portals.
