The Peren District Planning & Development Board meeting cum Advent Christmas 2023 was held at Carnival Village in Tepuiki River bank on 6th December 2023. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB, Vineet Kumar and attended by Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman DPDB, TR Zeliang.
According to DIPR, the meeting began with the introduction of new members followed by review of last meeting minutes and discussion of agendas. Proposal for placing Jalukie valley under Nagaland Special Development Zone was discussed and forwarded to the higher ups for approval. In regard to application for taxi permits and application for registration of society by Makaam Dimpuam Foundation, the Deputy Commissioner informed the members to discuss in the next DPDB meeting. TR Zeliang urged the Deputy Commissioner, Peren to extend the new site permit allotment deadline notification till March 2024.
Executive Secretary, Zeme Baptist Church Council, Dr Rampaukupoing Michui shared the significance of Christmas and Etwapeule Nza presented ‘Christmas is here’ while yuletide greetings was proposed by Zeliang.

The 6th edition of Winter Carnival cum Orchid Festival 2023 is being held in the same location. The Carnival is being organised by Progressive Peren in collaboration with Nagaland Tourism, TEAM ONE, Peren Town Youth Organisation, Peren Town Women Welfare Organisation, Nringbeting Foundation, Peren District Music Society, The Bridge, and Peren District Beauty Aesthetic Society.
