The monthly DPDB meeting of the Peren district was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Peren, on July 6 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, DPDB Peren, Hiazu Meru.

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by the chairman, followed by introduction of new board member. The Board deliberated on various agenda items of the day, and recommended the following proposal to the concerned department for final approval.

The proposal for opening of a Bank of Baroda branch at Jalukie, proposed by the DPDB Chairman, was approved and forwarded to the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) under the State Finance Commission.

The proposal for establishing an Agriculture and Allied Activities Demonstration Farm at Pedi, proposed by the Deputy Commissioner, was also approved and recommended to the concerned department. The Board constituted a committee to oversee the project, with the Deputy Commissioner, Peren, as its Convenor.

Following the agenda deliberations, Programme Manager, NagaEd, Kipenpongla Jamir, delivered a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the organization’s interventions in Government schools across Peren district and its ongoing educational programmes in collaboration with the Education Department.

The Board also reviewed the status of agendas discussed in the previous meetings, including adoption of Peren Government College, adoption of Government schools and hospitals, adoption of one village under each RD Block for streamlining the functioning of Village Development Boards (VDBs) and Village Councils, monthly mass social work, construction of office buildings, attendance of officials and staff in offices, and Officers’ Club.

The Deputy Commissioner entrusted Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Jalukie and Entrepreneurs Associates, Peren, to present their respective departmental activities through PowerPoint. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks from the Chair.
