The Samziuram Women Society Hall was inaugurated on Wednesday at Samziuram Village, Peren district by Azeu Namcyn Hau, Personal Secretary to Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang.
Hau, while congratulating the present executive members of Samziuram Women Society (SWS) informed that Kevizenuo Rangkau, who is also the wife of Zeliang, had donated the funds for the construction of the hall.
“To give from one own’s pocket to construct a Community Hall explains the level of charitable nature in her when even people in position to render help from Government funds finds it difficult to do so,” Hau said.
“Kevizenuo Rangkau is the Mother Theresa of Nagaland,” he declared, stating that Mrs Rangkau was a “simple, kind, generous and caring person by nature whose love and affection for the poor and downtrodden is exceptional.”
Referring to Samziuram Village as a ‘Mini Town’, the Hau said that the village was a fast-growing habitation and had a lot of potential to be at par even with small towns.
The Special Guest had earlier unveiled the plaque, which was then followed by a flag hoisting ceremony.

Samziuram Village Council Members, NDPP Party leaders from 7 Peren and 6 Tening Assembly Constituencies and other dignitaries were present at the inaugural function.
The program was chaired by Jienmum Malangmei and the dedication prayer was pronounced by James Gonmei, Pastor of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Samziuram. Hudin, Asst. Pastor of Liangmai Baptist Pumling invoked God’s blessings while Leihung, President of Samziuram Women Society (SWS) delivered the welcome address.
A brief history of SWS was presented by Kaduna, General Secretary of SWS and the benediction was pronounced by Agang, Pastor Zeme Baptist Church, Samziuram.
The program also witnessed March Pass by 3 Women Contingents representing the Zeme, Liangmai and Rongmei communities while the Pajeimei Team enthralled the gathering with their melodious song.
Samziuram Women Society (SWS) was established on 29 May 1989, and the day is celebrated as Raising Day by the Women Society.
