A thanksgiving program was organised for 6th Tening A/C MLA, Namri Nchang at Athibung town hall in Peren on Friday.

In his speech, Nchang said his victory was not because of good political strategy or money power and might, but by the grace and providence of God. He assured to honour his election promises for a progressive, transformative and resilient community. He also reiterated the need and commitment to make Athibung area a model area, beginning with the principles of equitable and proportionate development.

The MLA encouraged the gathering and the community to remain united, disciplined, accommodative and patient in the shared dreams, aspirations and endeavours towards achieving their goals.

He acknowledged the Athibung circle for organising the event, which he described as a heart-warming program. He appealed to the different political parties to forgive and forget the differences that arose during the general election and urged all to work together for peace and development in the area.

Nchang also stated that no party feelings need to be brought up and reminded the gathering that he no longer represents a single party or section of the people but that as MLA, he now represents the people from the area.

The formal program was chaired by Letgin Singson while a short speech was delivered by Rangtalak and Head GB Athibung town, P K Haolai.
