The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Mokokchung Division marked World Toilet Day on November 19, at GPS Alitongdong, Chuchuyimpang Village. The event, chaired by Jungshisungla, Jal Shakti Intern, saw active participation from the community.
Tsungrusungla Jamir, District Co-ordinator, took the stage to emphasize the paramount importance of proper sanitary facilities. She highlighted the link between inadequate hygiene practices and the prevalence of various deadly diseases, underscoring the need for accessible and clean toilets.

Adding a practical touch to the awareness campaign, Rongsentula, District IEC Consultant, conducted a handwashing demonstration for students, educating them on the significance of this fundamental hygiene practice. With an effort towards promoting cleanliness, participants were also provided with essential handwashing kits.
The PHED Mokokchung Division took this initiative to not only raise awareness about sanitation but also empowered the community with practical knowledge to foster a healthier living environment.
