PM Kisan Saman Nidhi awareness campaign held in Changtongya

An awareness and registration program for the Central Sector Scheme – PM Kisan Saman Nidhi – was held on 7 September at the Changtongya (Old) Community Hall. The program was organised by SBI, LBO Office and NABARD Mokokchung officials for four villages: Yaongyimsen, Changtongya, Akhoya and Unger villages under Mokokchung District.

Rorheu Peseyie, SDO (C) Changtongya, during his keynote presentation said the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme is a scheme initiated by the Government of India to offer monetary support to struggling Indian farmers.

He also stated that the PM Kisan Saman Nidhi Scheme has been modified to include credit help for fisheries and animal husbandry production.

During a brief exhortation, S Amarjit Mangang, DDM, NABARD, Mokokchung, mentioned that the KCC loan is available to all farmers as well as pensioners earning less than Rs 10,000 per month, and that the payback period is five years at a rate of 7% per annum.

He also stated that only the Working Capital Requirements (WCR) of the fisheries and animal husbandry will be granted to the beneficiaries.

Hatneikim Gangte Imsong, Chief Manager (LDM) SBI, LBO Office Mokokchung led the registration process.
