PM Vishwakarma awareness workshop on branding and marketing held in Peren

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, through the MSME Development and Facilitation Office (MSME-DFO), Dimapur, in collaboration with the Department of Industries and Commerce and the District Industries Centre (DIC), Peren, organized a one-day Awareness Workshop on Branding and Marketing under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme at the Women Welfare Organisation Conference Hall, Jalukie, Peren on September 4.

The workshop aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial capabilities of PM Vishwakarma artisans by equipping them with practical knowledge and technical insights on product packaging, labelling and design, export development, artificial intelligence, and financial literacy.

The first technical session on Product Packaging, Labelling and Design was delivered by Founder of Crave Inn and Pink Blossoms Society, Kimthailiu Panmei. She highlighted the critical role of effective packaging in enhancing product value, marketability, and brand recall. The subsequent session on Export Development was conducted by Functional Manager, DIC Peren, Namziulung Pamai who familiarised participants with the fundamentals of export readiness and opportunities for accessing international markets.

This was followed by an interaction with Lead District Manager, SBI Dimapur, Talinaro Longchar, who addressed participants’ queries on financial assistance, credit facilities, and loan application procedures available to entrepreneurs and artisans. The LDM also spoke on social security schemes under the Government of India such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJBY) and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSSY).

A session on Business Development was delivered by Financial Analyst, RAMP Scheme, DIC Peren, Kezhono Kennao. The session focused on integrated business growth planning, sound financial management practices, and the importance of networking and stakeholder engagement for enterprise sustainability and expansion.

An interactive session on Artificial Intelligence and E-commerce Onboarding was subsequently conducted by the State Programme Management Unit (SPMU), PM Vishwakarma. The session introduced participants to the fundamentals of AI prompt creation and demonstrated the use of AI tools for product design ideation, digital marketing, and business promotion. Participants were also guided on onboarding their products onto e-commerce platforms to improve market outreach.

Vivek Kumar from the India Post Office, Dimapur, conducted a demonstration on QR code generation, highlighting its utility in enhancing digital visibility and facilitating wider market access for artisan products.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by IEDS, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO Dimapur, Nikhilendra Y, where he encouraged artisans to actively participate in government-led capacity-building initiatives and to continually showcase and promote their work through such platforms to enhance their visibility and business prospects.
