The Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Balyan attended the launch program of PM Vishwakarma scheme in Kohima on Sunday as the chief guest. In his address, Dr Balyan said that the scheme recognizes the need for continuous upskilling and reskilling in today’s fast-paced global environment, where technology is advancing at an unprecedented rate.

He also said that PM Vishwakarma scheme is a movement that will bring about a sea of change in the lives of the people. While crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the initiative, Dr Balyan asserted Centre’s commitment to empower the skilled workforce in the country and harness its potentials. Through PM Vishwakarma Scheme, Centre is providing avenues for skills development and entrepreneurship, fostering innovation and creativity, and ultimately ensuring a better livelihood for our citizens, he added.
Highlighting the benefits of the scheme, Dr Balyan said that cornerstone of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme is its commitment to enhance the skills of our workforce, simplified access to credit and financial support, laying strong emphasis on encouraging the adoption of modern technology and digital tools, establishing robust market linkages to connect out skilled workers with both domestic and international markets and providing access to social security schemes to our work force.
The Union Minister urged the citizens to dream big, aspire for greatness and to explore the opportunities provided by the PM Vishwakarma Scheme.

Nagaland MLA and Advisor for Labour, Employment & Skill Development, Moatoshi Longkumer, Commisioner & Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland K. Kevichusa, Director (Fin) NEEPCO LTD Baidyanath Maharana also attended the program.
