Minister for Higher Education and Tourism Temjen Imna Along today announced on Instagram that the pending scholarships of ST students in Nagaland will be released from December 20 onwards.
Announcing the news on social media platform Instagram, Along also uploaded the sanctioned copy issued by the Government of Nagaland on December 18.
The copy mentioned that an amount of Rs.2916.67/- (Rupees twenty nine crore sixteen lakh sixty seven thousand) only for Post Matric Scholarship for ST Students inclusive of Central Share (90 percent) and State Share (10 percent) for two different Financial Years i.e. 2nd instalment of 2022-23 and 1st instalment of 2023-24 has been sanctioned.

“The expenditure is debitable to the Major Head 2225-Welfare of SC, ST, OBC and Minorities, 277- Education 277(1) Centrally Sponsored Scheme of PMS (ST) during 2023-24,” stated the copy issued Sentiyangar Pongen, Additional Secretary to Government of Nagaland.
In the post, Minister Along stated, “Dear students, thank you all for your patience. The post matric scholarship will be finally released from 20th December onwards. Inconvenience regretted.”
