Alice Achumi, proprietor of MultifloraHome in Dimapur, is hosting a heartfelt giveaway in memory of her late father. MultifloraHome, known for its wide variety of natural flowers, has been serving the Dimapur community since 2014 and has become a beloved floral destination in the city.
In an exclusive interview with Nagaland Tribune, Alice expressed her gratitude to the publication for giving her the opportunity to share memories and stories of her beloved father, who passed away 19 years ago.
“This giveaway is very close to my heart,” Alice shared. “In memory of my late father, who left us 19 years ago, I am giving away a money bouquet worth ₹5,000 to honour the love and life lessons he left behind.”
To participate in the giveaway, Alice invites people to share a story, memory, or moment about their father in the comments section of her Instagram page. “It can be something that made you laugh, cry, or changed your life,” she said. The most touching story will be personally selected by Alice, and the winner will be announced on Father’s Day and be awarded a money bouquet.
“I’m initiating this giveaway to commemorate my father’s life and legacy,” she added. “It’s also to spread happiness and positivity to those going through tough times—aiming to uplift and inspire others.”
Reflecting on her memories, Alice recalled being the only daughter in the family and the special bond she shared with her father. “He used to stay up late making and packing his special meat pickle for me to take to the hostel. It was his way of ensuring I had a taste of home wherever I went.”
“If I had one more moment with my father,” she said emotionally, “I’d just want to thank him for being my guiding light and for always believing in me.”
She also shared a piece of advice her father gave her: “Always be kind and compassionate, and never lose sight of your aspirations.”
Alice highlighted how her father taught her to face challenges head-on and to remain optimistic even in difficult times. “Through his example, I learned that hard work and perseverance can overcome any obstacle. It’s hard not having him around to celebrate milestones, to see me thriving, or to watch his grandchildren grow. I deeply miss the sense of security he gave me,” she said.
When asked why she feels compelled to initiate such a giveaway, Alice said, “My father was an incredibly selfless and generous person who always prioritized the needs of others. This is my way of honouring him.”
To those who have lost their fathers, she offered a message of comfort: “Losing a father is never easy. It’s natural to grieve, but take time to honour the memories and lessons they left behind.”
In her message, Alice shared her hope for the initiative: “I want to spread love, gratitude, and resilience—reminding everyone to cherish their time with loved ones, honour their impact, and carry their legacy forward in meaningful ways.”
