The Reproductive & Child Health (RCH) Outreach Health Camp was organised by the District Health Society, Wokha at CHC Bhandari on September 12, in collaboration with 17th Assam Riffles C, Coy Bhandari.

The district medical team from Wokha was led by the Dr Thungchanbemo, Chief Medical Officer; Dr  Abenthung Murry (DPO-NTEP) TB/ Chest X-ray /DAPCU; Dr Renchamo Tungoe, Gynae; Dr Renbenthung Yanthan & Sademchuba, Eye & Ophthalmic; Dr Mharoni Odyou, General OPD; Dr Yanbemo Murry & Dr Ngukato, RBSK/MMU; Surendro Moriangtem, Audiometrist; Renben & Mhao, SW and Thungbemo, PFW.

During a short programme, Dr Lydia, Ayush, MO CHC, Bhandari, appreciated the medical team from Wokha and the 17th Assam Riffles, Bhandari for their valuable services and support rendered to the people.

Dr Abenthung Murry, highlighted the importance of awareness, early detection and timely treatment of Tuberculosis (TB) and hepatitis. He also stressed on the importance of regular health check-up, personal hygiene, healthy lifestyle practices and seeking medical attention at an early stage.

A total of 242 patients were registered and availed various health care services during the camp. The beneficiaries comprised 91 patients under General Services, 13 under ENT/Hearing, 51 under Eye Care, 25 under Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 25 for Sputum Test and Chest X-ray, 8 for Vector-Borne Disease Screening, 14 for HIV Screening, and 15 under CMHIS. Free medicines were also distributed to the patients during the camp.

RCH camp provided an opportunity for the people of Bhandari and surrounding villages to access essential health care services and awareness on preventive health care & early diagnosis.
