In view of the transition to a 100% registration of Births and Deaths in the State, the Economics and Statistics Department Nagaland has informed the general public that all registrations of Births and Deaths would be carried out through the online system with effect from June 1, 2026.

The Department clarified that all Birth and Death Certificates issued manually prior to June 1, 2026 would remain valid for all official purposes. No citizen would be required to obtain fresh certificates solely on account of digitization.

The digitization of manually issued Birth and Death Certificates would be an ongoing process throughout the State.

Delayed Registration of Birth and Death through an online system would continue as per notified procedures issued earlier.

Citizens have been advised to ensure that all future registrations of Births and Deaths are carried out only through the die designated online registration system.

All District Registrars, Registrars, and Registration Units would facilitate a smooth transition to the online system and extend necessary assistance to the public during the transition period.

Citizens may approach the concerned District Registrars or Registration Units for any assistance or clarification.
