The undersigned concerned Office Bearers and Members of TGOA are compelled to issue this rejoinder to address the misleading Press Statement published under the title “TGOA refutes allegations on FNTA member selection”. The claims made by certain TGOA Office Bearers attempting to whitewash unilateral decisions require immediate correction in the interest of Organizational transparency, constitutional governance, and democratic integrity.

1. Misrepresentation of Attendance as Consultation and Deliberation

The attempt to validate the joint letter to the ENPO President (dated March 10, 2026) and the Kiusam Meeting endorsement (dated September 1, 2026) under the guise of prior notification is legally and procedurally untenable.

Simply circulating a Meeting Notice or inviting members to attend does not constitute convening a proper deliberative house meeting, nor does it equate to a house discussion or resolution.

Mere presence or the inability of some members to attend cannot be twisted to imply implicit consent or authorization for sweeping executive endorsements.

2. Violation of the TGOA Constitutional Framework

Article 7 of the TGOA Constitution explicitly stipulates that “The Office Bearers shall be the highest organ of the Association” and that “All the important policies and decision for common interest and welfare of the Association shall be taken up by the Office bearers.” Furthermore, Article 7.1(b) limits the President’s role to acting or representing the Association at appropriate platforms, but this power does not extend to making unilateral executive commitments on critical matters without the sanction of the collective body. Bypassing the collective authority of the Office Bearers and members directly violates the foundational tenets of our internal governance.

3. Gravity of the FNTA Member Selection

The selection of the Tikhir Interim Member for the Frontier Naga Territorial Authority (FNTA) is not a routine administrative task; it is a momentous, history-shaping development that will directly determine the destiny and political future of the entire Tikhir tribe.

As an intellectual body, the TGOA must maintain a strictly apolitical stance, neither endorsing nor condoning high-stakes political selections without thorough, threadbare consultation and open deliberation among all Office Bearers and members.

Major decisions of this magnitude require a Formal Meeting of the House where a unified, transparent, and unanimous or majority consensus is formally arrived at, rather than being rushed through backchannels or through unmandated executive signatures.

4. Institutional Grievances and Accountability

While the refuting statement argues that institutional grievances should be addressed through internal channels, it is precisely the systematic evasion of these very channels—and the persistent resort to unilateral representation—that forced Concerned Members to issue the initial Public Clarification. True Organizational accountability requires respecting the Collective House rather than utilizing Press Statements to legitimize unmandated actions.

Conclusion

We categorically reaffirm that any endorsement, letter, or representation concerning the FNTA Interim Member Selection made without the explicit prior discussion, review, and resolution of the TGOA House remains null, void, and non-binding on the Association as a whole. We urge all Members to uphold the sanctity of the TGOA Constitution and protect the collective voice of the Tikhir intellectual community from arbitrary and unilateral manoeuvring.
