Renovation works of Kiphire helipad underway

Kiphire: Renovations at helipad ground expected to combat anti-social practices in the area

The renovation works at the helipad in Kiphire Town had begun the District Administration and Kiphire Town Baptist Lithro (KTBL) Church Construction Planning Committee taking the initiative.

It was reported that the renovation was much needed as the chopper service from Dimapur to Kiphire vice-versa was put on hold due to the unsuitable condition of the helipad.

The district administration on its part under the supervision of SDO, Civil, Longdiba are working hand in hand with the KTBL committee.

The district administration is looking after the construction of the proper fencing construction and entrance gate on site whereas the KTBL committee is looking after the construction of levelling the ground and proper cement plastering.

“We are doing our level best to finish the renovation work as early as possible to ease the burden of the public.

“Sometimes the situation of people is in matters of life and death and without a proper service routine of chopper in the district, the public are left helpless and vulnerable and therefore it is our duty to provide the basic needed services to our citizens,” added SDO, Civil, Longdiba.

Nagaland Tribune in its earlier reporting dated 6 November 2022 pointed out how anti-social elements were prevailing at the site which had catch the attention of civil organizations, student bodies, district administration and the general public as a matter of outmost concern.

With the ongoing development of proper fence, entrance and plastering of chopper landing it is expected to bring about a preventive measure towards combating anti-social practices in the area.

Longdiba also mentioned that the helipad ground after its renovation will be fully utilized to its best capacity, and no other entry to the site will be entertained without a valid reason.

The district NST department will likely look after the smooth functioning of the helipad ground as the transportation services comes under it’s purview along with the support from the district administration, Kiphire.

T Yangpongse Sangtam, chairman, KTBL Church Construction Planning Committee said, “We are very happy that the district administration is giving us full support in the ongoing renovation of the helipad ground, we look forward for more cooperation towards a good cause,”

It is worth mentioning that the renovation work on helipad ground is under progress with the coming of new DC of Kiphire John Tsulise Sangtam.
