Sankalp Saptaah activities commenced in Kiphire Aspirational District and Zunheboto’s Akuhaito Aspirational Block. The week-long event is linked to the effective implementation of the Aspirational Blocks Programme (ABP) and aims to improve governance at the block level in order to enhance the quality of life of citizens.
The Department of Social Welfare, Thonoknyu ICDS Projects, on Wednesday, organized the Aspirational Block Program under the theme “Sabki Akanshayein Sabki Vikas” (Everyone’s Aspirations, Everyone’s Development) at Sanglao Village, located within Thonoknyu HQ of Kiphire Aspirational District, DIPR stated.
The event commenced with short speeches by prominent figures, including C. Khongo, Head Gaon Burha (GB), and S. Puchio, Village Council Chairman (VCC), who expressed their thoughts on the importance of inclusivity and development in the region.
The chairperson then extended a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support and participation of all attendees.
A highlight of the day was the “Millet Ki Rang Birangi Thali” recipe competition, which showcased culinary talents and celebrated diversity in food culture. Several other engaging activities, such as Growth Monitoring at Anganwadi Centers (AWCs), the Annaprasana ceremony, Poshan Mela (Nutrition Fair), and the Village Health, Sanitation, and Nutrition Day (VHSND) Anaemia Screening Camp at AWCs, were successfully conducted.
The program was chaired by Imlong Chaba, Block Coordinator. The event began with an invocation by Pastor Popoi from Sanglao Village. Keynote Address was delivered by M. Lakiumong, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), who shed light on the program’s objectives and emphasized the importance of holistic development for all.
In Akuhaito Aspirational Block under the Atoizu subdivision, Zunheboto district, the ‘Sankalp Saptaah’ activities began on 3rd October 2023 and will run until 9th October 2023. The diverse events and fairs encompassing various sectors including health, nutrition, cleanliness, agriculture, education, and livelihood. NITI Aayog serves as the nodal department for the Aspirational Block programme.
