The Seyochung Area Students’ Union (SASU) has urged the Commissioner of Nagaland to immediately constitute an independent, high-level inquiry committee to examine allegations and grievances concerning the functioning and conduct of Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer.
In a representation dated October 6, issued by SASU president Muwali T. Sangtam and general secretary Vitsala S Sangtam, the Union said the matter warranted an impartial and time-bound inquiry in view of the seriousness of the issues raised. It referred to an earlier representation submitted by T. Likhumse Sangtam and Tsathrise Reddy on October 1, which was acknowledged by the Commissioner’s office on October 5 under Receipt No. 4741.
The SASU said an independent inquiry was necessary to ensure that the grievances were examined objectively and that the matter did not remain unresolved. It maintained that, if substantiated, the allegations could have implications for administrative accountability, public confidence and the welfare of the people of Kiphire district.

The Union called for the immediate constitution of a high-level inquiry committee, stressing that the process should be transparent, impartial, time-bound and free from any conflict of interest.
It further urged the authorities to initiate appropriate administrative or disciplinary action in accordance with the law and applicable service rules if the allegations were established.
Emphasising that its demand was made in the larger public interest, the SASU clarified that it did not seek to prejudge the guilt or innocence of any individual. However, it cautioned that continued delay or inaction could undermine public confidence in the district administration.
The Union appealed to the Commissioner to initiate the inquiry without further delay and communicate the action taken at the earliest.
