A Science Exhibition was held at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Shamator on the theme “Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat” on June 15 with enthusiastic participation from various schools across the district. The programme was graced by Mekato J Aye, NCS, EAC Shamator, as the Special Guest.
The exhibition provided a platform for students to showcase their scientific aptitude, creativity, and innovative thinking through a variety of models and working demonstrations. Some of the notable exhibits included a solar-powered irrigation system, a model on electromagnetic power generation, and a vacuum cleaner technology operated through pressure, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Mekato J Aye highlighted the importance of curiosity and critical thinking as the foundation of innovation. He remarked that every invention begins with a question and that science is not confined to laboratories or textbooks but is deeply connected to everyday life. He encouraged students to view local challenges as opportunities for innovation and emphasized that technology and the internet have opened unprecedented avenues for learning and creativity irrespective of geographical location.
Referring to the theme, he underscored the significant role of women in science and technology and their contribution towards building a developed India. He further encouraged students to nurture their ideas, remain curious, and continuously seek solutions to real-world problems, noting that today’s ideas could become tomorrow’s innovations.

The programme concluded with the inspection of exhibits and interaction with the participating students, during which the Special Guest appreciated the efforts of the young innovators and the teachers who guided them. The exhibition witnessed active participation from students, teachers, and officials, reflecting a shared commitment towards fostering scientific temper and innovation among the younger generation.
