The Commissioner of Police, Dimapur Kevithuto Sophie, IPS has issued a prohibitory order at the Chümoukedima Peren border area belt following reported unrest.
Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 (Previously Section 144 of Cr.PC, 1973) has been imposed in the area which has recently witnessed conflict and unrest causing apprehension of breach of peace/ breach of Law & Order, endangering human life and property including agriculture produce.
The order has prohibited the assembly of not more than 5 (five) persons, carrying lethal weapons and firearms including lathis, dagger/ machete, sticks, spears, catapults or any other dangerous articles in the highway stretch from Vihuto Village – Khehoyi Village – Kiyevi Village area and along the Chumoukedima – Peren Border Belt.

The order will come with immediate effect and will remain enforced until further order.
“As the notice cannot be served individually on all concerned, the order is, hereby, passed ex- parte due to security exigency. It shall be published for information of public through press and affixing copies on the Notice Boards of the Offices of all District Administration Chumukedima, DCPS, ADCPS, ACPs and Police Stations,” stated the CP Dimapur.
