The ITF Nagaland Taekwon-Do Seminar, led by Master Narender Singh Rawat, a 7th Degree Black Belt, International Outstanding Instructor Award winner, and Technical Advisor of The Taekwon-Do Association of India was held from July 29-30, 2024, at The Vineyard, ending with a resounding success, informed Michael Kevichüsa, Legal Advisor to Taekwon-Do Association of Nagaland.
Master Narender, who is also known as the ‘Champion Maker,’ has coached numerous students to win medals in Asian and World Championships. He has a distinguished background, having trained under the late General Choi Hong Hi (South Korean Army General), the Father of Taekwon-Do, and maintains yearly ongoing mentorship from Former ITF President Prof. Dr. Dato Leong Yai Meng and the current ITF Chairman, Grand Master Prof. Hwang Ho Yong. His contributions include conducting seminars, self-defense courses, and strengthening ITF Taekwon-Do across India.
The seminar was initiated by Michael Kevichüsa, Legal Advisor to The Taekwon-Do Association of Nagaland and an ITF National and International Medalist, who will be representing India in the upcoming ITF Asian Championship.

In total, the Seminar was attended by 21 participants including Aito Sumi, ITF National Gold Medalist and recipient of Governor P.B. Acharya’s award in sports; Kampei Konyak, ITF National Gold Medalist and member of the All Nagaland KickBoxing Council; Kulungshi Newmai, Naga Olympics Wushu Medalist; and Kekhriesino Kevichüsa, ITF State Gold Medalist. The event left participants and organisers highly satisfied with the experience.
This seminar was a testament to the growing interest and dedication towards Taekwon-Do in our region. It provided a valuable opportunity for practitioners to enhance their skills and knowledge under the guidance of an experienced master.
