The Department of Power Nagaland, Wokha Electrical Division, conducted a sensitization and awareness programme on the Installation of smart meter, Revamped Distribution Sector Schemes (RDSS) on June 16 & 18 at Merapani village and Bhandari Town summer house-cum-guest house.

A sensitization programme on smart meter was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among consumers & stakeholders on the benefits and functioning of smart metering technology.

During the programme, Er Mhademo, JE Power, highlighted that smart meters provide accurate and transparent billing through automatic recording and transmission of electricity consumption data. It also enables consumers to monitor their electricity usage, helping them manage and reduce energy consumption.

Er Vungthungo L Murry, SDO Sanis Electrical Sub-division, also spoke on the advantage of the smart meters, and said that the smart meters help curb electricity theft and energy losses.
