Sensitization programme on BSI certified products held at Dimapur

Dimapur: Programme organised by Guwahati Branch Office for 41 Gaon Panchayats in Nagaland

The Bureau of Indian Standards, Ministry of Consumer Affairs- Food & Public Distribution, held a sensitization programme on the use of BSI certified products on 19th March 2024 at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Dimapur, DIPR has informed.

The Programme was organised by Guwahati Branch Office for 41 Gaon Panchayats in Nagaland.

The Resource Person of the programme was Barashajyoti Baishya, BIS Consultant and the event involved a presentation on the BIS and its recent initiatives. The Gram Pradhans were provided with valuable insights into how BIS standards play a crucial role in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, and consumer protection. They were also briefed on the effective use of informative Gram Panchayat booklets containing important standards. Further, the Gram Pradhans were also informed about the importance of adhering to these standards in government purchases to ensure that public funds are utilized efficiently and effectively.

The event was chaired by Extra Assistant Commissioner, Dimapur, Imlijungla Lemtur.
