A sensitisation programme on Smart Meter and Roof Top Solar System (Nagaland Solar Mission) was held at ADC’s office Akuluto, Zunheboto on May 6.

At the programme, benefits of smart meter installation, which includes real-time accurate power data usage, transparent billing and improved energy management were highlighted. The gathering was also sensitised on grid connected rooftop solar system for residential houses under the Nagaland Solar Mission, where people can avail subsidies offered. Further, the excess power generated can be monetised by the solar system.

ADC Akuluto, Tiayanger Jamir encouraged the people to make the most of the initiative, which he said is very important for a power-deficient state like Nagaland.

The programme was organised by the District Administration Akuluto in collaboration with Power Department, Akuluto Subdivision and was attended by the Government officials, CSOs and public leaders of Akuluto.
